Do you need to pass a drug test? Maybe your job is on the line, or maybe you are trying to get custody of your children. Whatever the reason may be, it’s important that you know how to pass a drug test without any problems. There are many ways that are being advertised as a surefire way to pass a drug test ASAP. From detox kits and herbal drinks, to using illicit synthetic urine. For someone who needs to pass a drug test without any hitch, knowing what to do can be very overwhelming. Is there really a shortcut to pass a drug test?
In this blog post, we’re going to discuss the different steps that you can take to make sure that passing a drug test won’t be a problem anymore. While this might not be the easy way out, it’s the only way you can pass a drug test without any worry.
Step 1: Learn what kind of drug test will be administered
There are different kinds of drug tests that you might be subjected to. Knowing what kind of drug test will be administered is important because it can help you identify the best method for passing them.
The four most common ways to test for drugs are urine test, blood test, saliva test, and hair test. The type of test that will be administered will really depend on what the test is for.
Out of the four tests, urine tests are more common because they are cheaper to administer. Also, compared to blood and saliva drug tests, substances can usually be detected in the urine longer. Different drugs can usually be detected in the urine for several days. On the other hand, there are some drugs that can only be detected in the blood or saliva for just a few hours.
Of all the four tests, hair testing can detect substances in your system the longest. Substances can be detected in the hair from 30 to 90 days. This means that it is possible to test positive for a certain drug even if you have not used the substance for over 2 months.
Step 2: Learn how a long a certain substance stays in your system
Not all drugs are created equal. Depending on the substance you took or still taking, they can stay in your system for different lengths of time. For example, codeine and heroin are both opioids but the length of time these substances stay in your system are different.
If you are to undergo urine drug testing, codeine can be detected only for 1 to 2 days while heroin can be detected for 2 to 7 days.
It is then very important to know the average times a certain substance can still be detected on your system. Take note, however, that there are other internal and external factors that can affect this.
Your body’s metabolism, age, height, weight, kidney function and liver function will affect how long a certain substance will stay in your system. You’ll also have to factor in the strength of the drug you took and whether you’re a habitual user or you just used the drug one time. Obviously, the drug will stay longer in your system if you are a frequent user.
Step 3: Eliminate substances from your system
To pass a drug test, you will have to stop using the substances. Just because you think that your drug test will not be for another week, then you’ll decide to still use drugs because you think the drug will be flushed out in a few days anyway. Remember that there is no guarantee that when you go into a drug test, the substances will be totally flushed out. The earliest you stop taking the substances, the better.
Step 4: Seek professional help from an addiction treatment facility
For some drug recreational users, it might be possible to just stop using substances. If they are not habitual users, it might not be that difficult for them to stop. However, this is not always the case. In fact, many people are deep into their addiction that stopping is not something they can easily do.
If you are in this situation, the best course of action is to admit yourself to an addiction treatment facility. Seeking professional help will help you get through the detox process so you can safely be treated for your substance abuse issues. Doing this is a long-term solution, not a shortcut, to passing a drug test. By being clean of the drugs and going into addiction recovery, you can be more confident that you will pass any drug test.
